We wanted to create instant awareness for the Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s play “Sunday in the Park with George” which is a theatrical production based on the Chicago Museum of Arts most famous painting, George Seraut’s “Sunday on La Grande Jatte.”

The Stunt: We created a 100% realistic fake of the painting with most of the characters gone. We simply turned on the hidden cameras and watched the astonishment and confusion play out.

The Point: The characters in the painting had “jumped off the painting and gone to Chicago Shakespeare Theater to perform in the play.”

The Results: 300% increase in attendance. This campaign with a mere $25,000 budget, won nearly every shopper activation award and Best of Show on the planet. Cannes Lion, Super Reggie, Pro Awards Best in Show, One Show, World Retail Awards, and more.
